We know that having an underground shelter isn’t always feasible. There are a number of factors beyond the cost that can prevent someone from having an underground shelter. Factors like not having enough space available for installation, or soil conditions that increase the cost of installation and aren’t ideal for underground shelters. That’s why we also offer products for above ground safety and security. We have a wide range of sizes available or we can build you a custom sized shelter if you don’t see something that works for your specific situation.
In contrast to many of our competitors selling above ground shelter solutions that have thin, pre-made, bolt-together sections; all of our shelters are all custom built to order, using thick 1/4″ plate steel and 1/4″ steel tubing. This is approximately 2 times thicker than the pre-fab bolt-together shelters and this translates directly into strength. We also weld our products instead of using bolts that could potentially be points of failure. When we arrive at your home for installation, we simply unload your shelter as one solid structure and bolt it to your foundation. No assembly required because the shelter was built specifically for you! Our product is at least 2 to 3 times stronger than most of our competitors. They are better engineered, better built and in most cases they are priced cheaper than their inferior competition. Our steel structured storm shelters come with an industrial exterior coating which protects against corrosion and it allows these shelters to last for generations. No more worrying about corrosion, cracks, mold, moisture or collapses when you use steel structures combined with our coating. These shelters sit below the earth’s surface and are the SAFEST option in a tornado or extreme weather.
WHY STEEL SHELTERS ARE FAR BETTER THAN THE REST
Steel acclimates to the temperature of the ground by expanding and contracting slightly. The flexible nature of steel makes it the perfect material to build underground structures from. Our steel storm shelters are coated with rubberized coating which stops corrosion guaranteeing the shelter will last for generations. There is no worrying about typical issues like corrosion, cracks, mold, moisture or collapses due to exposure to the weather and earth. With our steel shelter there is also no unsightly 3ft hill in your yard. These shelters sit below the earth\’s surface and are the SAFEST option in a tornado or extreme weather.
The units pictured below are common storm shelters available in every size (ranging from 4×8 to 10×50). Our standard tornado shelter includes staircases, bench seating and ventilation.
